30 Weeks

First, I want to apologize to anyone who reads my blog. I usually don't spell check before posting and I'm not the best with punctuation. I have always known this but while reading over old posts recently, I started to feel sorry for those trying to decipher my ramblings. Sorry! I'm not perfect.  Now onto what Liam has been up to...

30 weeks down and only 10 more to go!!!!!! At this point in my pregnancy things are really starting to get, well kind of weird. Liam weighs about 3 pounds this week and is about 16 inches long. His rental property is getting pretty tight. I am 99% sure that he is head down at this point with his arms/head taking up shop above my left hip and his feet/butt are under my right rib cage. For a couple of days I think he was trying to escape; pushing really hard in these two areas. It kind of hurt. But, I must still rejoice that we have an active healthy baby thus far! (Went to the doctor today and all was good!)

This is my 5th and final week as a nanny for two sweet girls. We have had our challenges but all in all, it has been a great experience...and good practice!

Baby Tess laughing at the toy on her car seat.

This week I also got a little crazy over chalk board spray paint. I blame it on Pinterest-my new addiction!

29 Weeks

Week 29 has been an exciting one for the Same family; well mostly the weekend. It all started when.....I was looking on Carmax for a Kia Sorento with less than 40k miles on it. I didn't really care about color or anything else, just that it looked like a decent car. On Tuesday Isaiah and I found the one that we liked - but it lived in Orlando, FL. I called Carmax and was asking about the car and how long it would take to get it to Birmingham. Carmax guy- "Oh it will usually take anywhere from 10-15 days. That's just an estimate though, sometimes it can take longer, depending on the truck driver." Me- "Ok, well lets go ahead and get it transferred up here." So we set the ball  rolling, anticipating that we will be getting our new car in about 2 weeks. Once it arrives, we would have 3 days to go in and look at and decide to buy it or not. We went about our week in our usual routine until Thursday evening....phone rings....car guy on the phone- "Mrs. Same, your car is here." Me- "What!? Ok, well we'll come in and look at it on Saturday." Wow! That was fast! So the next logical thing to do would be to list my old 2003 Honda Accord for sale. I had some some research and looked around to find out what other similar make/model cars were going for. I priced mine a couple hundred dollars less in hopes that it would sell faster. Literally 5 minutes after I posted my car on Craigslist, my phone was blowing up! Texts, calls...at 9:30 p.m. The very first person that texted me wanted to come and pick it up that night! I told her that I couldn't sell my car to her that night but that I would be glad to the following evening. The potential buyer was coming from Atlanta to buy my car the very next day! We sold my old Honda on Friday night and went to get my new Kia on Saturday afternoon! God was definitely behind the scenes orchestrating that scenario. We are so blessed!

Since that story took a while, I'll make the rest of this post pretty brief. We also put together Liam's furniture for his nursery this weekend. It is coming together and looking so cute! I can't wait til it's all done! Here's a sneak peak...

Liam continues to make crazy alien like movements that make my belly look all funny. I think he is going through a growth spurt this week because my belly has seemed really heavy lately. Only 10 more weeks!!!!!!

**What Liam’s Been Up To This Weeks**
  1. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain.
  2. His brain can detect rhythmic breathing and control body temperature, so he’s less likely to need breathing assistance should he be born early.
  3. He’s growing eyelashes, adding fat, and developing his brain. Because of brain wave activity, researchers have speculated that babies can even dream at this time!
  4. Though he’s getting pretty close to his birth length, he still has to chub out a bit. In fact, over the next 11 weeks, he’ll more than double — or even come close to tripling — his weight. And as he grows and room in your womb gets tighter, you’ll be less likely to feel those big kicks and more likely to get poked by an elbow or jabbed by a knee.

28 Weeks

We're in the home stretch my friends! The third and final trimester started this week and that brings us only a few short weeks from meeting our son. I will miss the time spent alone with Isaiah but can only dream of the joy that we will share in raising our first child. Over the course of my pregnancy, I think I have fallen more and more in love with Isaiah. Knowing that we made this child together and the support that he has shown me through all my hormonal outrages and tears means the world to me. I love you Isaiah!

Liam and I went to the doctor this morning and everything is looks great. I am measuring half a week ahead of schedule which probably doesn't mean anything, but is still exciting. I gained 4 pounds in two weeks (OOPS!!!) but my total weight gain is still only 15 pounds. Not too bad if you ask me!

I had this crazy dream last night that I was having Liam. We were at the hospital, getting checked in and I decided to go for a walk. I won't try to explain it all but it was very intense; filled with Germans shooting large balls toward the creek I was swimming in, their escape in a giant hot air balloon, weird forest creatures, and a baby who was born with interlocking 4 inch razor blade teeth. Ok, I guess it sounds more like a nightmare but it really wasn't scary....just bizarre.

Next week I'll post of pictures of our weekend at the lake with friends. Liam made his bikini debut, it was liberating.

27 Weeks

Good-bye 2nd trimester! I'm a little sad that this trimester is over but also elated that the 3rd trimester is starting. I'm sad because I've always heard that the 2nd trimester is the easiest! I'm not looking forward to the heart-burn, more weight gain, added discomfort of sleeping, and excess moodiness! But, 3rd trimester does mean that Liam's arrival is only 12 weeks away! Man, I still have a lot to do!

Over the weekend my mom came to town to do baby things and attend my baby shower on Sunday. We had a great time! I wish she could have stayed longer. We made the window treatments for Liam's room and they are super cute! I really am looking forward to getting his room done. It will have to wait until September though.

For the month of August, I am working as a nanny for two little girls. The girls are 4mo and almost 3 years old. I must say, I'm getting some pretty good practice! I think one baby will be easy as pie...minus the sleep deprivation!
